And on we go: The role-playing game Neverwinter just doesn’t want to get tired and will get another add-on next month in June.
With “Dragonslayer”, Gearbox Publishing and developer Cryptic Studios are launching the next add-on for the evergreen Neverwinter. From June 14, 2022, the new expansion will hit PC, Xbox and PlayStation; this marks the 23rd add-on for the long-running title. With Arc Games, Epic Games Store and Steam, you will have various sources of purchases open to you on the PC. A novelty is the simultaneous release on PC and consoles, otherwise the consoles always followed suit.
The add-on was announced at D&D Direct and is inspired by Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons. You will join Smerdiuk Dragonbane and his mighty dragon slayers to explore epic dragon lairs and hunt down the chromatic dragons of the D&D universe. “Dragon Slayer” should offer exciting adventures to both long-serving veterans and newcomers.
The new expansion also brings a brand new Dragon Hunt system where you will fight against different chromatic dragons ranging from the freezing White Dragons to the sneaky Green Dragons. The dragons are divided into different ages (Young, Mature, Ancient) and each type of dragon offers its own challenges, hoards and rewards.
Furthermore, the dragons of Neverwinter extensively revised. The deadly creatures have been upgraded with new attacks, spells, and the ability to take to the air. The popular “Temple of Tiamat” trial, in which you fight the dragon queen Tiamat, has also received a major update, so that it now awaits you with new mechanics and challenges along with different levels of difficulty.
