Although only a few weeks have passed since the launch of (and for now hypothetical) chapter of the IP Dying Light 2, the guys of Techland are already planning the future of the survival horror series. This is confirmed by the Lead Designer Tymon Smektala with some interesting reflections on the next chapter of the IP.
Chatting with the journalists of VideoGamesChronicle, the exponent of the Polish software house quickly retraced the work done by his team on Dying Light and Dying Light 2 Stay Human and then turned his gaze to the future and theorize what, according to him, could be the most direct news of the next chapter of horror sandbox in parkour sauce.
Smektala begins in his speech by emphasizing how “if we were to realize Dying Light 3, well, then I would like the main character to start the adventure with a wider range of skills. With the first and second Dying Light we adopted the same approach as the hero forced to start his journey with a limited set of skills that must evolve over time. So yeah, I think in the third game of the series, if we develop it, we’ll give the character a way to start the adventure with more powers and basic skills“.
Remaining strictly current, we remind those who follow us that Techland has decided to postpone the first expansion of Dying Light 2 to September to focus on optimizations and improvements to be made to the first “major” add-on in open world horror. From June, however, we will have access to the Chapter “In the Footspets of a Nightrunner”, with lots of content and special events to participate in. Also for the month of June there is also an update that will introduce the Photo mode in Dying Light 2.
