Salt and Sacrifice is out now, and for the most part, the role-playing game has received praise from the public and critics, though not all aspects of its launch have been well received by people. There have been recent reports based on comments by developer Ska Studios that the price of the game on PC on the Epic Games Store was higher than originally thought, presumably due to an exclusive deal with Sony that limited the sale of the game at lower prices on other platforms.
However, it is not. Developer Ska Studios released a statement explaining that pricing for the PC game was adjusted in some regions prior to the game’s launch, and that these changes were not enforced by any platform holder.
Store prices have been adjusted in various regions ahead of the game’s global launch on PC at 9:00 AM PT on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. The price has not changed in any store or region since launch, and no platform owner has requested any changes to the game’s original price. Developers Ska Studios and Devoured Studios apologize for the confusion regarding price adjustments prior to the launch of Salt and Sacrifice and, as a two-person development team, remain focused on supporting the game after a successful release.
Ska Studios or Devoured Studios have not provided any further word on whether regional pricing for the game in certain areas will be adjusted following the backlash from users. In some regions, such as Brazil and Turkey, the price of the game has increased by about 300%.
