Since Unreal Engine 5 was released, modders and artists have apparently been spinning their wheels. More and more people are tinkering with environments or porting game environments to the new engine. And that can really be seen.
When you see what modders and artists are releasing just a few months after the release of the new engine, you can only imagine how awesome future games could look. We have once again discovered some worth seeing tech demos that we don’t want to withhold from you.
Some time ago, Christian Gomm, an environment artist, took a well-known region from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and implemented it in Unreal Engine 5:
Artist Saher Tarek from Egypt has recreated 3D Night City using Unreal Engine 5, assets from the Unreal Engine Marketplace, CG Trader and Kitbash, giving the already not exactly ugly game a whole new shine that makes it clear why CD Projekt RED also secured the Unreal Engine 5 for the next Witcher game:
Even ports of older players get a whole new appeal through the engine. A modder simply ported Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit from 1998 to Unreal Engine 5 using modding tools, Houdini and Python, using the original levels and models and leaving the rest to the engine:
It really gets you excited for the upcoming games that will use Unreal Engine 5, doesn’t it?
