Have you ever wondered how durable the Steam Deck is? If yes, then the new video of the blogger JerryRigEverything will definitely interest you. In it, the YouTuber conducts a crash test of the console from Valve.

JerryRigEverything chose the 512 GB version of the Steam Deck as its victim. To begin with, he assessed the strength of the screen. The blogger brought the flame of the lighter close to the anti-reflective glass. After a few seconds, a black spot began to form on the display, and then it disappeared, but left a small glare.

The YouTuber also tried with all his might to bend the console in different directions – the screen passed the test and did not even crack. Then with a clerical knife, he began to cut the letters A, X, Y and B from the buttons. But no matter how large a layer he would remove from them, the designation of the keys remained, so you don’t have to worry about their wear over time.

The only thing that can be said against Valve is the quality of the console itself. A sharp object easily leaves marks and scratches on it, although in general the result is very good.

Despite the Steam Deck’s strength and rigidity, it is recommended to carry it in a case.
