On Monday, the first trailer for Prey, which is a prequel to Predator, was released, hinting at the historical sci-fi action movie. It will air August 5 on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus Star in other regions.
The action takes place in 1719 in the country of the Comanches. This is the story of a young Naru woman, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She grew up in the shadow of the most legendary hunters that roam the Great Plains, so when her camp is threatened, she goes to protect her people. The prey she hunts down and eventually encounters turn out to be a highly advanced alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, leading to a brutal and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
Prey is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Ason (Jack Ryan, Treadstone), and produced by John Davis (Jungle Cruise, Predator) and Jane Myers (God’s Monsters). Lawrence Gordon (Watchmen), Marty Ewing (It: Chapter Two), James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas and Mark Toberoff (Fantasy Island) serve as executive producers.
