Pair tweets from Jason Kelly has started a new Deathloop-related rumor that talks about a possible “new game” (new title), which reportedly opens up the possibility of some kind of addition to what could become a series, although that question is all is still highly doubtful.
Indeed, the actor who plays the protagonist of Deathloop, namely Colt, posted a tweet with a photograph of him during dubbing, with the phrase “Oooooooooo! Can’t wait to talk about it” and a number of hashtags apparently related to Deathloop.
In response to this, one of the users asked: “Well, will there be any good DLC?”. But Jason Kelly flatly denies: “No, a new game. That’s all I can say because of the NDA.” Obviously, Kelly can’t reveal more information due to the non-disclosure agreement he has to abide by, but his answer raises a lot of questions.
The idea of a DLC or expansion would make a lot of sense for Deathloop. It seems highly unlikely that this could be a new chapter in the series, but the answer may lie in Arkane’s typical way of presenting their game expansions as standalone games.
We saw this, for example, in Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, which by all means is a kind of DLC/expansion, but is treated as a true chapter in itself. So Deathloop could get that addition as well, and that would be something Kelly is working on. We may find out more about her during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase scheduled for June 12, 2022.
