A couple of tweets from Jason Kelley have launched a new rumor related to Deathloopfor which there may be a “new title” coming soonreportedly opening a chance on some addition to what could be a series, though the matter is still decidedly dubious.
The actor who plays the protagonist of Deathloop, that is Coltin fact, has published a tweet with a photo that sees him engaged in a dubbing session, with the phrase “Oooooooooo! I can’t wait to talk about this thing” and a series of hashtags obviously linked to Deathloop.
In response, a user asked “So is there any good DLC coming up?” But Jason Kelley denied with a precision: “No, a new title. That’s all I can say, because of NDA. ”Of course, Kelley can’t reveal anything else due to a nondisclosure agreement she has to submit to, but her answer raises a lot of questions.
The idea of a DLC or expansion it would make particularly sense for Deathloop and also considering Bethesda’s modus operandi, but the clarification on the fact that this is a new title is strange. It seems really difficult that this could be a new chapter in the series, but the answer may lie in the typical way in which Arkane presents the expansions of its titles, as real games on their own.
We saw it, for example, with Dishonored: The Death of the Outsider, to all intents and purposes a sort of DLC / Expansion but still treated as a real separate chapter, stand-alone. Deathloop could therefore also receive an addition of this type and it would be the one that Kelley is working on. We will probably know more during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase conference set for June 12, 2022.
