Almost a year after the initial announcement, there is a sign of life from “The Chant”. Publisher Prime Matter and developer Brass Token have released a first teaser trailer for the horror game:

The road to enlightenment leads through the land of nightmares
“The Chant” is set in a spiritual retreat located on a remote island. After a shared singing ritual – a chant – goes horribly wrong, a portal to the nightmare dimension “The Gloom” opens. Now it’s up to protagonist Jess to survive and defend herself against a multitude of prismatic horrors unleashed by the ritual.
From now on you have to be careful: “The Gloom” feeds on negative energy! The dark dimension begins to drive Jess and the rest of the group insane. Taking everyone’s fears and anxieties and manifesting them as interdimensional creatures, The Chant takes players on an unprecedented journey of psychedelic horror!
But all is not lost: those who unlock the mysteries of a 1970s New Age cult while empowering mind, body and spirit can reverse the effects of the failed ritual and escape imprisonment in the Terror Dimension.
According to the information at the end of the trailer, “The Chant” will be released in autumn for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
