Microsoft, apparently, is not entirely happy with the design of its new Windows 11 operating system. This is quite understandable, because this OS retains the “legacy” of previous versions of Windows in the form of outdated icons, buttons, dialog boxes and other elements that have not been removed. so easy to get rid of.
Windows 11 was released last fall, but Microsoft designers still continue to “comb” this operating system, changing the design of various components. They are faced with the task of completely ridding WinUI of the remnants of the past. In Windows 11, the shutdown computer options dialog box that opens when you press the Alt + F4 keyboard shortcut has been changed. The dialog has become much more minimalistic – you can only select the option to disable and confirm the action, or close the window and return to working with the computer.
The previous shutdown dialog in Windows 11 was much the same as in Windows 10 and didn’t quite fit the new design language (for example, it lacks rounded corners, unlike other dialogs in Windows 11). In addition, the user was sometimes asked to choose the reason why he wants to shut down or restart the computer (according to Microsoft, this should help developers deal with bugs), and now there is no such poll.
Microsoft designers also decided to get rid of the design of the Window 8 and Windows RT times on the recovery screen of the Windows Recovery Environment. They have not completely redesigned this screen yet, but only updated the icons, replacing the old ones with more modern ones.
All of these changes have appeared in the Windows 11 Dev Channel, from which Windows 11 program members receive updates. A major Windows 11 update with these and other innovations will be released next year. There are still many elements in Windows 11 that need to be completely redesigned to match the new design language, including the Control Panel.
