CD Projekt Red is a partnership with EpicGames received, as we reported here. The next game in the Witcher universe will therefore no longer be created in REDengine like the studio’s last title, “Cyberpunk 2077”, but in Unreal Engine 5. But we can still marvel at how “Cyberpunk 2077” would have looked in Unreal Engine 5:
The video is a compilation of the work of several programmers. The video description states that the outdated REDengine is to some extent responsible for the problems in “Cyberpunk 2077”, when actually, if free of bugs and on a high-end PC, it is an “extremely gorgeous game”.
But this is just a mind game à la “What if?”. After all, the Unreal Engine 5 has only recently been released for game projects. However, it gives a possible foretaste and whets the appetite for an eventual future “Cyberpunk 2078”.
