As confirmed by the developers of Sony Bend, the PlayStation classic “Syphon Filter” will come with the support of trophies in the new PlayStation Plus Premium service. This could indicate that other selected games will receive Trophy support.
As should be known by now, Sony Interactive Entertainment will be launching the new three-stage version of its in-house subscription service PlayStation Plus next month.
We have reported on the offered features and content several times in the past few weeks – among other things here. Shortly before the start of the new PlayStation Plus offer, the developers at Sony Bend Studios may have anticipated a surprise or announcement. As is well known, the premium tier of the new PlayStation Plus includes an extensive library of PlayStation classics.
The offer ranges from the original PlayStation, through the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation Portable, to the PlayStation 3. In the case of the PS3, it should be noted that the classics can only be played via the cloud.
Classics are apparently provided with the trophy support
Among the premium level classics included are the various offshoots of the “Syphon Filter” series. Sony Bend Studios, the creators of the series, took to Twitter to confirm that the original “Syphon Filter,” originally released for the first PlayStation in 1999, will come with trophy support. Even a platinum trophy is offered to the trophy hunters among you.
More news on the topic:
“Incoming from Bend Studio: Agency Intel reports that Siphon Filter will include trophies when it arrives on the all-new PlayStation Plus,” the developers succinctly stated, already naming a first trophy you can unlock in “Syphon Filter.” . Since it cannot be assumed that we are dealing with an isolated case here, other classics of the new PlayStation Plus level are likely to be provided with the support of trophies. However, there is still no official confirmation on this.
Would the trophies give you another reason to play PlayStation classics again? Or are you still not interested in older games and prefer to focus on current titles? Tell us in the comments.
