Ditto it is a Pokémon that is more unique than rare, since it is able to take the form of the monster in front of it and copy its moves. The creators of the Pokémon Trading Card Game have managed to find another way to replicate this ability, a gimmick that is however confusing collectors.
The new expansion set dedicated to Pokémon GO, arriving next July 1st, will include a Ditto card with a very special feature: on it will in fact be applied a sticker depicting another Pokémon, such as the Bidoof visible in the movie at the bottom of this news. The special paper can be easily identified thanks to the presence of a Ditto symbol in the lower left corner, as well as the different texture to the touch. The only way to reveal the Mutant Pokémon, therefore, will be to peel off the sticker with the mimed monster.
Interesting, right? Too bad that the card, although not yet available on the market, is already confusing Trainers, especially collectors, who are asking themselves a very simple question: to remove or not to remove the sticker? In the official announcement, The Pokémon Company has already made it clear that the Pokémon above Ditto cannot be used in official competitionsbut the collectors’ concerns seem to be different: most of them have already indicated their intention to leave the top layer on the paper, but some are worried about the degradation that could be caused by the glue. Collecting is a serious matter, since, as we have seen recently, some cards can acquire values in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, like this Magikarp.
