The Xbox family of consoles has never been in high demand in Japan, but the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting shortage of gaming systems have slightly changed the course of events.
Let it seem like a drop in the ocean, but in the period from 9 to 15 May Sales 6120 Xbox Series S consoles and another 105 Series X units versus 2963 PS5 consoles. In the latter case, systems both with and without a drive were taken into account.
If we talk about sales of current generation consoles in general, then, alas, Microsoft so far very far from success Sony. As of May 15, 1.6 million PS5s and just over 200,000 Xbox Series consoles have been sold in Japan.
The top-selling system is still the Nintendo Switch, with 18.2 million units sold per capita, and that’s not counting the Lite version and the new revision with an OLED screen. However, it is understandable – the console was launched in 2017.
