In January, as we remember, the deal of the year was announced: the purchase of the company Activision Blizzard corporation Microsoft. It was then reported that the deal would be completed in the first half of 2023. And now, Microsoft President and General Counsel Brad Smith spoke about how the necessary procedures are progressing. In an interview with the Belgian newspaper L’Echo Smith declaredthat the work is in full swing and the process of closing the deal is moving quite quickly for an event of this magnitude. The stage at which the purchase is located, he described as follows: “We have come to the end of the beginning and are already entering the beginning of the middle.”

Activision Blizzard’s deal with Microsoft is subject to regulatory scrutiny. At the same time, both in the US and in Europe, all possible consequences for staff and the gaming market as a whole are being checked.

Recall that Microsoft buys the creators call of duty, Warcraft, Overwatch, candy crush and other popular games for $68.7 billion. This is almost 20 billion more than the market capitalization of Activision Blizzard. The deal will be the largest in the gaming industry.
