Qualcomm has unveiled its new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip which, according to the brand, is 10% faster than the previous version.
Now, the well-known platform AnTuTu has revealed the benchmark tests of a mysterious smartphone, equipped with the new processor, which has achieved a record score of over a million.
Unknown smartphone equipped with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 reaches 1,118,161 points on AnTuTu
AnTuTu tests on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor
Last week, Qualcomm finally unveiled its improved Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, which the manufacturer claims provides 10% faster performance than the previous version.
Now the AnTuTu platform has revealed the benchmark tests of an unknown smartphone, but that is equipped with the new Qualcomm processor paired with 18 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, with a screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and running Android 12 operating system.
According to the well-known platform, the mystery smartphone scored 266,524 points in the CPU test, a sense that in the GPU, memory and UX tests it recorded 468,846, 194,987 and 187,804 points, respectively. After all, the unknown equipment recorded a record score of 1,118,161 points.
According to AnTuTu, the scores obtained by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip in the memory and UX tests are quite similar to those of its predecessor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. But the CPU and GPU tests already show an improvement of 20 thousand to 30 thousand points. And it must be for this reason that Qualcomm claims the new chip is 10% faster.
Recall that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 integrates a 3.2 GHz Kryo Prime core, three 2.75 GHz Kryo Gold cores, four 2.0 GHz Kryo Silver cores and Adreno 730 graphics.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is considered one of the best in the premium segment, but it has been experiencing overheating problems when in multitasking mode or in more demanding games.
Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 increased energy efficiency by 15%
Most smartphone manufacturers have integrated advanced cooling systems into their terminals to deal with the processor’s temperature rise, but the problem still persists.
Since the new Snpadragon 8+ Gen 1 is built with TSMC’s 4nm process, it is expected to generate less heat. In fact, Qualcomm advances that this chip has increased energy efficiency by 15% compared to the previous version.
Now that Qualcomm has already revealed the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, it’s time to get to know the various new smartphones equipped with this chip. And there are already many models on this list.
For example, Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Asus ROG Phone 6, Motorola Frontier, OnePlus 10 Ultra, Realme GT 2 Master Edition and iQOO 10. But it’s not just Chinese brands that are on this list, South Korean Samsung may also have equipped the new foldable Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 with the new chip from Qualcomm.
What will be the first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 smartphone to hit the market?
