Just a week ago, EXOR Studios announced that their tower-defense strategy game The Riftbreaker would receive its first major update at the end of May, but now they’ve reported that plans have changed.
The Riftbreaker: Metal Terror lets you explore a brand new area in Galatea 37 – Metal Valley. This previously unexplored biome holds many secrets. You will encounter species of creatures unlike anything you have seen before. You will gather information about the strange ways in which local flora adapt to the conditions of this biome. You will explore anomalous objects that can open the door to powerful technological advances.
Now the addition is expected to be released in July, now without a specific date. According to the developers, this decision was difficult for them, but necessary.
According to them, Metal Terror is a very large expansion that introduced several new types of creatures, a completely new type of resource, dozens of research items and weapons. Adding so many new features and making sure they interact properly with each other is a complex and lengthy process. While testing the new part of the campaign, they discovered several serious problems. Among many others: saves are corrupted, the game is not yet fully stable, and the gameplay is not properly balanced, resulting in a poor gaming experience on higher than normal difficulty.
