In the fall of 2022, AMD will launch the Ryzen 7000 series processors based on the Zen 4 architecture. For the first time in several years, they will change the socket: instead of AM4, the new processors use socket AM5. However, this does not mean the end of support for the old socket.
At a presentation at Computex, AMD CEO Lisa Su promises that AM4 socket support will continue.
AM4 is a great platform and will be around for years to come.
