More and more Call of Duty: Warzone 2 news and rumors keep popping up. Latest updates on features like Strongholds and Extras Pro.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will also be released with the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. This game mode (like its predecessor) aims to be completely free-to-play while still taking the gaming experience to the next level.

Here are a few new features announced by Tom Henderson for Warzone 2, but not yet officially confirmed:

Return of Extras Pro (Pro Perks): Many may still know it from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which was released in 2009. You can equip three perks per class, and when you complete certain contracts with that perk, it gets the suffix “Pro” and there are advanced bonuses like no fall damage. This mechanic will return but will be reworked and these pro-extras can be looted in a Stronghold in Warzone mode.

In some playtests, there seem to have been pre-built classes that included such perks, so it’s not 100% clear yet if you’ll be able to choose the pro perks yourself in your classes.

Fortresses: Strongholds will be completely re-introduced in Warzone 2, they are supposed to be places spread out on the map and guarded by AI opponents. You can conquer these fortresses or ‘strongholds’ and complete missions there to get your loadouts and other loot, such as the above-mentioned Extras Pro or Killstreak rewards.

backpack system: The backpacks could be an inventory system, more familiar from role-playing games like Diablo or Path of Exile. You have a certain number of slots and each item you want to take with you also requires a specific slot.

An example: backpack level 1 (10 slots, 2 × 5) – sniper rifle 8 slots (2 × 4) – ammo 1 slot (1 × 1).

So you could take a sniper rifle and two times ammo. However, if Killstreak rewards are also taking up space, you need to start sorting your inventory and maybe leaving something behind to pack something better. According to a report, this mechanic is still in an early phase of development.

Bulletproof vests/plate carriers: This feature is already known from predecessors and is only being adapted and revised. In Warzone 2 you should have the opportunity to find vests/plate carriers of different quality. Depending on the quality, you can use different numbers of plates. As a result, the vest you are wearing does not break, only the plates, which you can then stock up on again.

interrogation function: The last new feature, like the backpacks, is still in the early stages of development. The point here is to interrogate downed enemies using a kill animation and thus reveal the whereabouts of their teammates. The previous animation should be limited to one injection and be about six seconds long.

According to Tom Henderson, the information mentioned comes from a relatively reliable source, but it is and remains rumor! As long as they have not been officially confirmed or denied, you should adjust your expectations and, as with all rumours, always remain skeptical.
