Huawei today introduced the MateBook 16s laptop in China. The manufacturer said that the novelty is the first laptop based on the Intel Evo platform, which uses the flagship 14-core processor Core i9-12900H with a frequency of up to 5 GHz. The company is also ready to offer simpler versions of the laptop – based on the Core i5 and Core i7 of the Alder Lake generation.

The laptop received a 16-inch touchscreen display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, support for a resolution of 2520 × 1680 pixels and 100 percent coverage of the sRGB color space. The color accuracy of the screen is at Delta E<1. The screen has a brightness of 300 cd / m2. The laptop does not have a discrete graphics card. The integrated Iris Xe GPU of Alder Lake processors is responsible for the graphics here.

It is noted that the novelty in the flagship configuration is 26% faster than the MacBook 16 Pro based on the Apple M1 Max processor, and up to 50% faster than the laptop based on the Core i7-1260P.

The laptop is equipped with a webcam that supports Full HD resolution, two USB Type-C connectors, one of which is with Thunderbolt 4 interface (you can connect an external video card), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, and one HDMI. The body of the novelty is all-metal. The laptop received an 84 Wh battery with support for fast charging. The battery replenishes the charge up to 50% in 30 minutes. The Huawei MateBook 16s is 17.8mm thick and weighs 1.99kg.

The MateBook 16s version with a Core i5 chip, 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB solid state drive was priced at $1,045. A Core i7-based variant with the same specs is priced at $1,195. The flagship model based on the Core i9-12900H, with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, was priced at $1495. In China, retail sales of new items will start on June 6.
