As we have known for some time now, Insomniac Games is working on a new one multiplayer game for PS5, therefore, a potentially very different experience to the latest titles made by the authors of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Now a job announcement would seem to confirm that the project in question is a ‘Brand new IPthus eliminating the theories on a new Resistance from the equation.
Specifically, the new position available is that of Art Director. Duties and responsibilities of the candidate include “art direction in a multiplayer environment” and assisting the team in “pre-production planning and development of a new IP”.
Insomniac Games
In particular, this last step would seem to confirm precisely that the game in question will be a new IP and not based on a brand on which Insomniac Games has already worked in the past. We can therefore exclude a priori a new Resistance, the first-person shooter series of the PS3 era, as hypothesized a few months ago due to the images and references published on the social networks of Insomniac Games in the past.
Furthermore, it seems that the development is still in an embryonic stage, given that we are talking about pre-production. On the other hand, let’s assume that the bulk of the studio’s forces are currently engaged in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine.
