Today, May 23, Oppo held a presentation of its new Reno8 series of smartphones, consisting of three devices: Reno8 with Dimensity 1300 chipset, Reno8 Pro with the recently released Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and Reno8 Pro + on Dimensity 8100 Plus. We collected all the most important things about these smartphones.
Oppo Reno8 Pro+ is the top smartphone of the series with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with Full HD resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a cut-out for a 32 MP selfie camera with autofocus.
On the rear panel there is a block with three cameras: the main one is 50 megapixels with a Sony IMX766 sensor, the ultra-wide-angle one is 8 megapixels and the macro one is 2 megapixels. Oppo Reno8 Pro + also received a custom MariSilicon X neuroprocessor for image processing.
The Pro + model received a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chipset, 8/12 GB LPDDR5 RAM and a 256 GB UFS 3.1 drive. Other features of the device include a 4500 mAh battery with support for 80 W SuperVOOC charging, an in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.
The Oppo Reno8 Pro+ is available for pre-order in China for 3699 Yuan (~$556) for the 8/256GB model and 3999 Yuan (~$600) for the 12/256GB version.
Oppo Reno8 Pro is the world’s first smartphone with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset built on TSMC’s 4nm process. The device features a 6.62-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 32MP selfie camera cutout.
The camera block here is absolutely identical to the Pro + model – there are three sensors on the rear panel: the main Sony IMX766 at 50 megapixels, ultra-wide at 8 megapixels and macro at 2 megapixels. The Oppo Reno8 Pro is also equipped with the MariSilicon X neuroprocessor to improve image quality.
Other features of the device include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, a 4500 mAh battery with support for 80 W SuperVOOC charging, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The Oppo Reno8 Pro is available for pre-order in China for 2999 Yuan (~$445) for the 8/128 GB model, 3199 Yuan (~$480) for the 8/256 GB model and 3499 Yuan (~$525) for the 12/256 GB version .
Oppo Reno8, the most affordable smartphone in the series, received a 6.43-inch Full HD AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a 32 MP front camera cutout. There are three cameras on the back – a 50MP main camera, a 2MP monochrome sensor, and a 2MP macro lens.
The regular Reno8 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset, 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of internal memory, as well as a 4500 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 80 W and an under-screen fingerprint scanner.
The Oppo Reno8 starts at 2499 Yuan (~$375) for the 8GB/128GB version and 2999 Yuan (~$445) for the 12GB/256GB version.
All three new items will go on sale from June 1.
