According to Kantemir Balagov, director of the pilot episode, The Last of Us TV series, which is currently in production on HBO, is scheduled to release in early 2023.
Obviously, we cannot take this as official information yet, but we can consider Balagov’s statement as indicative, if not more, of the likely release dates, based on the current state of work.
According to the director in an interview published by Holod Media, “The Last of Us has a special place in my heart, so this project was important to me, and it was my first serial experience.” Balagov said.
Speaking about the progress of the series, he said that “they’re still filming” but that The Last of Us should “release early next year”. So, it’s still vague information, but that’s all we have for now.
