the smartphone POCO C40 will be one of the next releases of this sub-brand of Xiaomi to hit the market in 2022 for the entry-level segment. In other words, it will be one of the cheapest Android smartphones of the year, with promising features and, perhaps, a new version of the MIUI.
Although its presentation date is unknown, the mobile POCO C40 obtained a new range of certifications from the NBTC and BIS, signaling not only its existence, but also its preparation. That said, we expect this good and cheap smartphone to be revealed over the next few weeks.
New certifications point to the presentation of the POCO C40 soon
The listing of the new Xiaomi mobile phone was first released by the leaker Mukul Sharma through the social network Twitter. Thus, we also learn that this smartphone will be launched effectively in India, and its availability in Europe is equally likely. However, at the moment we do not have information that can support this hypothesis.
Looking at the certifications we now have a listing in the TDRA (Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority) of the United Arab Emirates (picture above). Previously, this smartphone was certified by the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) as well as the NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission).
We know that this product will have the model number 220333QPG and should be called POCO C40. Unfortunately, we still don’t have access to the list of technical specifications for this smartphone whose rumors point to it as cheap and good.
Xiaomi’s new range of cheap smartphones for 2022
Rumors point to the launch soon not only of the POCO C40, as well as the POCO C40+ (Plus). It seems that this will be the new range of cost-effective Android smartphones for 2022, coming side by side with Xiaomi’s new Redmi.
It should also be noted that for the POCO C40 range the recommended retail price will be very low. To this end, Xiaomi will have listed the help of a new Asian processor manufacturer to develop the JR510 chipset.
In addition, new smartphones may have a special version of the MIUI interface, the MIUI Go. Such an implementation, similar to Google’s Android Go, would be optimized for phones with low specifications and/or limited hardware.
We also know that the smartphone will support Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz as well as 5 GHz. In addition, it will have (slow) charging at 10 W, as well as conventional dimensions, namely: 167.18 x 76.87 mm (height x width), of unconfirmed thickness.
Finally, according to the leaks, this smartphone will cost about 128 dollars, or about 120 euros.
