By carefully observing the multimedia material produced by Infinity Ward to announce the release date of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, you can see clues “hidden in plain sight” by the Activision subsidiary.
The first and, perhaps, most obvious teaser shared by Infinity Ward comes directly from the live action video that confirmed the return of Captain John Price and his Task Force 141, setting it for October 28 on PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Jumping to minute 0:45 of the film packaged by Activision, in fact, you can see a drone whizzing next to a container that bears the code “J-8-22”a more than likely reference to June 8, 2022 as the date of the gameplay reveal of COD Modern Warfare 2.
No less interesting are the clues hidden by Infinity Ward in the images depicting the members of Task Force 141. The face of each member of the team led by Captain Price is imprinted with a portion of a geographical map. As rightly pointed out by the now famous leaker Tom Henderson, the portion of the map imprinted on the Ghost mask of Operator Simon Riley highlights the coasts of the Gulf of California between the United States and Mexico.
A further clue of Mexico as a possible setting for the main campaign of COD Modern Warfare 2, on the other hand, comes once again from the same guys of Infinity Ward in presenting the new member of Task Force 141, the Colonel Alejandro Vargas of the Mexican Special Forces.
