Huawei has officially confirmed the end of its partnership with camera manufacturer Leica following Xiaomi’s announcement yesterday of a collaboration with the brand.
Huawei has been working with Leica since 2016 and has used the technology together in its flagship P and Mate series smartphones, making these devices one of the best (sometimes even benchmarks) in mobile photography.
“We can confirm that the cooperation between our companies ended on March 31st,” Huawei told Android Authority reporters.
Thus, Huawei P50 and P50 Pro are the latest Huawei smartphones with Leica cameras. By the way, the Huawei P50 Pocket clamshell cannot boast of Leica cameras, even though it was released in December last year.
The next device with Leica optics will be released under the Xiaomi brand in July 2022.
