Director George Miller has confirmed the return of Tom “Junkie XL” Holkenborg to the Mad Max franchise. The composer will write music for the prequel about Furiosa.
This will be the third collaboration between Miller and Junkie XL. Before that, the musician worked on Fury Road and the upcoming fantasy drama Three Thousand Years of Wishing.
Junkie XL is considered one of the most famous and prolific composers in the video game film industry. He has written music for Sonic 2, Batman v Superman (with Hans Zimmer), Deadpool, Saints Row 4, NFS, Burnout, Mirror’s Edge and more.
Furiosa will star Anya-Taylor Joy (Furiosa) and Chris Hemsworth. The premiere is expected in May 2024. As for the sequel to Fury Road, we shouldn’t expect it anytime soon.
