About the situation informed RBCwho referred to two market participants and the head ANO “Information Culture” Ivan Begtin. Begtin suggested that this was an unspoken requirement of state customers.

Yes, in “Yandex”, MTS, Ozone, Sberbank and Russian Post assured that they do not make personnel decisions based on the nationality of employees. Also, representatives of these tech giants did not say whether they were aware of layoffs or discrimination against Ukrainian IT specialists in Russia. But in VK, GroupIB, “Kaspersky Lab”, Rostelecom, Wildberries and Softline did not respond to a reporter’s request.

According to the head of the Ministry of Digital Maksuta Shadayeva, such benefits for the IT industry are aimed at making Russia a country comfortable for the work of IT specialists. It should be noted that the Russians submitted more than 50 thousand applications for training in IT specialties at the State Services within the framework of the Digital Professions project. Earlier it became known that IT specialists with knowledge of the Chinese language began to be in great demand since the beginning of this year. The demand for such specialists in January-April amounted to 15% yoy.
