The Lord of the Rings: Gollum – Daedalic is finally getting the release date out

The forthcoming The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be unusually dark. After it was already known that you can slip into the role of the shady Gollum from autumn, Daedalic Entertainment is finally revealing the exact release date.

Update from May 24 – 5:15 p.m.:

Daedalic Entertainment and Nacon are finally letting the cat out of the bag. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is expected will be released on September 1, 2022 for PC and consoles. While gamers on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One can sneak into the dark stealth game, Switch players still have to be patient.

It works for owners of the Nintendo console only later in the year Come on. The developer does not give an exact date.

How does the new The Lord of the Rings game play?

During the Daedalic Days, the German developer is showing gameplay for The Lord of The Rings: Gollum for the first time. The new trailer shows a level in Mordor where the Protagonist Gollum flees from the cruel orcs.

Even if many designs differ from the successful film trilogy, fans should immediately feel at home in the dark orc fortresses. A dark cave full of cobwebs also hints at the appearance of the Giant spider Shelob hope. Gollum himself is not a particularly capable fighter. The trailer therefore shows how he sneaks through the corridors and tries not to be discovered. However, the product page on Steam reveals that he’s not completely defenseless. This allows him to assassinate unsuspecting opponents as soon as an opportunity presents itself.

Gollums too split personality should have an impact on the gameplay. The new trailer shows none of that. At the end, however, the dark ruler Sauron reports again personally. The action-adventure wants to tell a story about which little is known so far. So shall Gollum’s time as Sauron’s slave up to his Sojourn with the Elves of Mirkwood be examined more closely.

During Daedalic Entertainment the action-adventure is working on, fans are resurrecting one of the best Lord of the Rings games right now. The project also released a first gameplay trailer a few months ago.
