The event that Redmi held today in China was not just for the presentation of its latest smartphones. On stage, the new Redmi Buds 4 and Redmi Buds 4 Pro were also unveiled.
These new headphones are the latest low-end proposition for anyone looking for a wireless noise-canceling headphones. That’s one of the reasons these can be a cost-effective alternative to Apple’s AirPods Pro.
Redmi Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro bring noise cancellation at a low price
Starting with the design, the Redmi Buds 4 are not very different from other proposals from this Chinese brand. The new earbuds feature an in-ear philosophy which means they will rest in the wearer’s ear canal.
However, there is a difference between the two options unveiled by the Chinese brand. The Redmi Buds 4 Pro have temples that will naturally rest outside the ear canal, a physical trait that the Redmi Buds 4 do not have.
Common to both models presented today will be their 10 mm dynamic drivers. They also share a dual transparency mode that lets you hear what’s going on outside without having to take the earbuds out of your ears.
With regard to active noise cancellation, the cancellation of 35 dB is promised with Artificial Intelligence adjustments in the Redmi Buds 4. The Redmi Buds 4 Pro can cancel up to 43 dB with a note also for the cancellation of noise caused by the wind.
Exclusive to the Redmi Buds 4 Pro is the Hi-Fi sound that will allow higher quality sound reproduction for those who value sound quality. Furthermore, the company claims that this model features virtual stereo sound and a latency of 59 ms.
Thanks to Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, the new Redmi Buds 4 and its Pro version will be more stable in their connection with the smartphone. In fact, they will be able to maintain this connection within a radius of 10 meters.
Autonomy can reach 36 hours
Depending on the version you purchase, the autonomy of the earphones will also vary. In fact, the Redmi Buds 4 promise up to 30 hours of playback, while the Redmi Buds 4 Pro offer up to 36 hours of playback.
Such values should reflect the total autonomy of these earphones, including their charging case. However, these values may be lower with active noise cancellation on.
Finally, it is important to clarify that the Redmi Buds 4 were announced with a price of 27 €, while the Redmi Buds 4 Pro will cost 51 €. For now, these headsets will only be sold in China, awaiting further information on their global availability.
