Zadak and Apacer have partnered to develop and launch a PCIe Gen 5 SSD. Now, the companies are the first in the industry to announce the Apacer AS2280F5 and Zadak TWSG5 SSDs.
According to manufacturers, their SSDs are capable of sequential read speeds up to 13,000 MB/s, and sequential write speeds are declared at 12,000 MB/s. Both new products are made in the M.2 Gen 5 form factor and support the NVMe 2.0 protocol. They are fully backwards compatible with PCIe Gen 4 solutions. Both drives are equipped with massive heatsinks of completely identical design. However, Zadak also offers an “ultra-thin graphene” heat-spreading plate in addition to the heatsink.
Pricing and launch dates for Apacer AS2280F5 and Zadak TWSG5 PCIe Gen 5 M.2 SSDs have not yet been announced.
