It is noteworthy that Taiwan’s MediaTek came in second in terms of net profit margin, and SK hynix, a South Korean memory chip manufacturer, came in third. The field of activity of the latter is characterized by cyclical market fluctuations, so it is not certain that next year SK hynix or its closest competitor will be able to claim the same position in the ranking. However, even for TSMC, the previous year was not the most prosperous, because its net profit margin decreased by 1 percentage point compared to 2020. This year, conditions will only get worse, so the company will have to raise prices for its services by 5-9% by the beginning of 2023.
