Trusted and reliable insider ECSM_Official (Enthusiastic Citizen), told the upcoming Intel High End Desktop processors Sapphire Rapids and consumer Raptor Lake.
Interestingly, both should be released this October, which is almost exactly one year after Alder Lake. Meanwhile, the Intel HEDT platform hasn’t been updated in a very long time, and judging by this rumor and some past leaks, it’s going to take a different path than previous generations.
It is noteworthy that they will not be presented as the Core-X series, but rather as Xeon W3400/2400therefore, they will target the same consumer space as AMD Threadripper PRO. The incentive to offer processors with more cores with more power and connectivity is fading as mainstream series get more cores and even better motherboards.
13th Gen Intel Core Raptor Lake likely to arrive in October to support existing motherboards as well as new high performance platform Z790. Rumor has it that new motherboards will be released next year, including series H770 and B760. A very similar release schedule was adopted for the 12th generation Intel Core series, so it could be assumed that processors with the “K” will be among the first to be introduced.
