A Reddit user took advantage of Maxis and Electronic Arts’ 2008 life simulator Spore to recreate the monstrous, otherworldly Elden Ring final boss.
Spore, developed by the now defunct Maxis and published by Electronic Arts in 2008, was an ambitious life simulation that allowed players to create custom alien species and evolve them into a galactic civilization. Despite its commercial failure, the game retains cult status among fans even fifteen years after its release. Players were able to recreate almost any creature in it, from Minecraft mobs to Pokemon. One resourceful Reddit user even managed to make the final boss of Elden Ring in the game.
In a post sent to the Elden Ring subreddit, user royalmaker686 showed off his version of Elden Beast created with the Spore creature editor. Slug-like and stunningly iridescent, it definitely seems like a lifeform worthy of dominating a FromSoftware game. Interestingly, royalmaker686 also made a version of Dragonlord Placidusax, one of Elden Ring’s most hidden bosses.
