On May 20, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards was released for the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, and while it’s mostly true to the original, it contains a rather egregious bug. Players have found that on one level that takes place underwater, the stun will cause them to get stuck in the animation. The only way out is to exit the level and restart it (and ideally not be stunned).
Nintendo is aware of the bug and has promised to fix it soon.
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards for Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Switch Online has encountered a bug that prevents players from progressing under certain conditions. A patch will be released early next week to fix this. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
The Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack has had its fair share of criticism since its release, primarily due to the price, and issues like this don’t help the situation. Since Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulators have also been reportedly leaked for the service, one has to wonder about their quality.
Other games recently added to the basic subscription include Congo’s Caper and Rival Turf! for the SNES and Pinball for NES.
