Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi: That’s how awesome Episode 3 was

Star Wars: Obi Wan Kenobi launched exclusively on May 27 with a concentrated load of two episodes DisneyPlus. Luckily, fans didn’t have to wait too long for the third episode, because as usual, all other episodes come to the streaming platform on Wednesdays. With the third episode, the mini-series has already reached its half-way point and, as you’d expect, it was filled with surprises, which of course begs the question of what else does director Deborah Chow save for the finale? We’ll find out in three weeks. But first of all, let’s talk about the events of Episode 3. As always, spoiler alert for those who haven’t seen the new episode!

What happened in Episode 3 of Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is still on the run from the Galactic Empire. As we learned in the first two episodes, the Jedi Master now has a young one Princess Leia in tow. The two end up on the remote mining planet Mapuzo, which unfortunately has an Imperial garrison present. The two try to remain unnoticed, but are eventually tracked down by a known villain.

None other than Darth Vader is on their heels. So fans get a clash between Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) and Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) as early as the third episode. Best of all, Kenobi actually pulls out his lightsaber, probably for the first time in a decade.

However, Obi-Wan doesn’t stand a chance against Darth Vader and only escapes badly injured through luck. But it will for sure not the last meeting of the two opponents be. According to concept art published before the start of the series, the final showdown between the two on the lava planet Mustafar take place on which Anakin in Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith experienced his iconic loss to Obi-Wan.
