Ubisoft on its official website announced the launch of an initiative called RADAR. This program is a $10 million investment fund to support indie developers in Quebec.
The French publisher noted that the RADAR fund was created not only to simply distribute money to those in need. Support will be provided in the form of various trainings, allocation of experienced developers, and so on.
Ubisoft RADAR will support independent developers at three different levels. The first is funding the game at the pre-production stage, the second is support at the final stage of development (expertise, additional funding, QA, and so on), and the third money will be used to promote games – various events, creating trailers, searching for a community manager, etc. similar.
All profits generated by RADAR will immediately go to the fund. Ubisoft will not take anything for itself. Games will be selected if they have commercial potential, as well as an idea that can be realized.
