Deepfake channel stryder HD has remastered scenes from Obi-Wan Kenobi by replacing Ewan McGregor’s face with Alec Guinness’s. Alec played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original George Lucas trilogy.
The events of the series take place long before the original trilogy, but stryder HD did not begin to rejuvenate Guinness. It might have been worth it: in some scenes, the new Obi-Wan Kenobi seems too old.
This is logical: Guinness was already 63 years old during the filming of A New Hope, Ewan McGregor is now only 51 years old.
The YouTuber did not say which frames from which films with Alec Guinness were used to train the neural network. Most likely, it was Star Wars itself: thanks to the existence of HD remasters, you can get good training data.
