Many gameplay mechanics of the “bloody” survival game are based on the classic elements of vampire stories. For example, here servants obey the orders of their bloodthirsty master, which is why they can be used to extract resources, protect their homes, and also as an endless source of “live” food.
This guide will detail where to find servants in V Rising and how to use them.

How to catch servants in V Rising
Before you start capturing servants, you first need to build your own castle, convert its main part to stone instead of wood, bind your hero to stone coffinand then make coffins for their future subordinates.
How to create a coffin for a servant [Servant Coffin]
First of all, you need to complete tasks from the quest log, which are displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. After the stage with the construction of your own stone coffin and the binding of the protagonist to it is completed, the menu with available items will be unlocked drawing of a coffin for a servant.
At this stage, you need to collect three additional ingredients, as well as choose a room in the castle to place it.
It is recommended to allocate in advance a separate room somewhere in the basement, where several coffins will fit at once, since in the future you will have to get as many servants as possible.
To create a coffin for a servant, you need 16 planks [Plank]8 copper ingots [Copper Ingot]as well as one great blood essence [Greater Blood Essence]. The last ingredient is the hardest to get. To do this, you need to combine 4 Flawless Hearts [Unsullied Heart] in blood press [Blood Press].
Where to find the Dominant Presence ability [Dominating Presence]
After creation coffin for a servant the game will reward the hero with the ability Dominant Presence (you need to press the button “Take Reward” in the quest log in the left corner to get it). It should be automatically displayed in the skill wheel (displayed on the screen by pressing Ctrl).
If it is not added to this section, drag it manually from the skill menu (I by default).
This ability blocks standard skills and grants access to Kiss the vampire [Kiss of the Vampire] – A skill that allows you to turn people into servants.
Where to find the Bloodlust ability [Blood Hunter]
Before starting to hunt for servants, it is recommended to acquire the skill Bloodlust, which allows you to determine the type and quality of the blood of all characters on the screen. You can get it after defeating Tristan, the vampire hunter (boss level 46). The enemy lives in the location Forgotten cemetery [Forgotten Cemetery] in the area of Farbane Woods.
How to find and capture a servant
When meeting with a group of people, you must first weaken them with normal attacks. Then you need to activate the ability Dominant Presence and use Vampire Kiss – a long-range skill that makes characters with low health indicators go under the influence of the protagonist.
Next, bring the enchanted NPCs to your castle and lead them to the coffins.
Each servant will need a separate coffin.
How to turn an NPC into a Servant
After the actions described above, you need to click on the coffin and press the button “Turn” [Convert]to start the process of turning the NPC into the protagonist’s obedient slave. This will require 100 units. Blood Essences [Blood Essence].
This process takes about one and a half hours of real time. Keep in mind that servants can always be replaced with new ones if desired. This is done in the same menu.
How to use Servants in V Rising
In order to issue orders to your servants, you must first craft throne of the castle [Castle Throne]using 24 stone bricks [Stone Bricks]16 iron ingots [Iron Ingots] and 4 Great Blood Essences.
To get a recipe that allows you to craft iron ingotsyou must first defeat Quincy, King of Thieves [Quincy the Bandit King]a level 37 boss in the north Lesov Farbein in location bandit fortress [Bandit Stronghold].
Wards of the protagonist, who obey his orders, can perform two main tasks: protect the possessions of their vampire master and get all kinds of consumables.
Immediately after the transformation, it is recommended to give them equipment so that they can better perform their assigned roles.
How to order servants to defend the castle
Protecting the castle by default is the top priority of all newly converted servants. If no action is taken, they will roam the building, attacking any intruders that get in their way.
How to send a servant to hunt
After building the throne, you need to click on the button to interact with it to open the expedition menu. Here you can choose the location where your wards will go, the duration of the campaign, as well as the number of servants in the squad.
It should be borne in mind that the productivity of raids depends both on the equipment of the servants and on the place of their “origin”. For example, people who fell under the influence of the hero in The grounds of Danlí will bring more resources from this area than from any other region.
The success of the expedition also depends on its duration: a 24-hour raid with a 95% probability will bring a lot of useful loot, while a 2-hour real-time raid has a lower chance of justifying itself (only 55%).
How to capture NPCs in V Rising
Characters affected by the skill Vampire Kiss, can be turned into prisoners – a potentially endless source of quality blood. To do this, you need to craft in your castle prison cell [Prison Cell].
Jail Cell Blueprint drops for defeating Vincent the Frostbringer [Vincent The Frostbringer], a level 40 boss. He lives in the very center of the Danlí Meadows region, in the location militia camp [Militia Camp].
You can install an unlimited number of prison cells in the castle. Each of them will cost 12 iron ingots.
After that, it will be enough to bring the enchanted NPC to the cage and click on the appropriate option in the context menu to turn the character into your prisoner. After that, it can be used as a personal source of blood, but it is important to ensure that the parameter torture [Misery] did not exceed reasonable limits.
In a separate menu, you can feed your captives with different types of meat and fish, as well as extract from them blood essence. If you need to free the cell, the current inhabitant can be killed.
More useful and regularly added information can be found in the V Rising section.
