This week, EU lawmakers decided that USB-C will become mandatory for devices sold in Europe, including Apple gadgets, from the fall of 2024. At the same time, insiders report that Cupertinians are in no hurry to abandon Lightning.
It follows from the LeaksApplePro statement that both types of ports will be used in the upcoming iPhone 15 line: Lightning in lower models and USB-C in smartphones with the Pro prefix. In the iPhone 16, Apple will completely switch to USB-C, but insiders do not exclude the fact that older models will be completely without ports.
This year, Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 14 at the fall presentation. Experts report that in the Pro and Pro Max models, the company will abandon the notch at the top of the screen in favor of two smaller cutouts. In younger models, everything will remain the same.
