“The Quarry” has been on the market since this Friday. The recently received test ratings reveal how well the new teen horror from Supermassive Games is doing with the critics.
With “The Quarry” Supermassive Games does not tie in with the “The Dark Pictures” series, but is based on “Until Dawn”. Now the total of 57 submitted test ratings show: In terms of quality, the new release can definitely keep up with its intellectual predecessor.
Namely, the narrative horror adventure comes at a time Meta score of 80 points. 45 reviews are positive, while the remaining twelve ratings are neutral.
“A Great Narrative Adventure”

at Malditos Nerds if you’re not quite so convinced (70 points): “The Quarry has everything that horror fans and the studio like, but nothing more. Modes for group decision-making or enjoying the game as a movie add replay value. But at the end of the day, it’s clear that it’s time for Supermassive Games to bring more innovation to their stories.”

Our tip: grab a couple of friends and keep handing the controller to them in the appropriate game mode. That way you’re each responsible for a character, and you experience the horror together (and probably yell at each other).
PlayStation players pay EUR 69.99 (PS4 version) or EUR 74.99 in the store. A deluxe edition is also available, which costs 84.99 euros. Aside from PlayStation consoles, The Quarry is available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.
