The supply of isopropyl alcohol to China began to suffer.
Rising fuel prices have triggered a wave of protests by workers in the trucking industry in some parts of the world, and South Korea is no exception. As explains Reutersa multi-day strike by local “truckers” has already led to interruptions in the supply of isopropyl alcohol from South Korea to China, where two production lines of Samsung Electronics for the production of solid-state memory are located.

Isopropyl alcohol of a certain degree of purification is used at Samsung enterprises for processing silicon wafers, from which solid-state memory chips are made. An enterprise in Xi’an, China provides about 15% of the global market with solid-state memory, so failures in its operation can negatively affect prices. It is reported that the strike of drivers in South Korea has already deprived the company of about a week of isopropyl alcohol. In general, the protest activity of employees of the transport industry has cost the South Korean economy about $1.2 billion.
