In the fourth season of Stranger Things, the heroes of the series deal with Vecna, a monster that lives on the Other Side. At some point, Vecna is revealed to be a human who participated in the same program as Eleven, but was defeated by her and trapped in the Other Side.
After the release of the first half of the fourth season, it was revealed that fans predicted this turn of events back in 2016. The corresponding theory was mentioned in an interview with Build by Gaten Matarazzo, who played Dustin.
[…] most of the other test subjects from one to ten died, and the others were locked up on the Other Side. Well, they can’t get out.
We have seen the effect [пребывание на Той стороне] had on Will, and they spent so much time on the Other Side that they turned into what became a monster. In general, the monster is one of the recent test subjects.
In the comments to a fragment of an old interview, fans note that the theory was still not entirely correct: the very first test subject turned into Vecna not because he spent a lot of time on the Other Side. But the rest of the theory turned out to be close to the truth.
The final episodes of the fourth season of Stranger Things will air on July 1. Most likely, they will finally reveal the storyline associated with Vecna.
