Last month, it was reported that Patrick Schwarzenegger had been cast in the untitled The Boys spin-off about college superheroes. As it turned out, his famous father did not appreciate the success of his offspring, because he did not watch the show.
Patrick told reporters a funny story about how he showed photos from the set to his father:
He looked at me and said: “What the hell are you filming?”. And I said: “It’s a show called The Boys. To understand, you need to watch at least one episode, otherwise I won’t be able to formulate what’s going on in it.”
As for the show itself, Patrick described it as “a hilarious and outrageous comedy”, adding that most of all it resembles “Euphoria” with superheroes.” The actor was not embarrassed by the fact that both seasons of “Euphoria” from HBO is a drama about the difficult life of teenagers .
Spin-off “The Boys” will tell about a team of young superheroes who have not yet completed their training. The creators themselves describe it as “an irreverent R-rated series in which young supers test their physical, sexual and moral boundaries by competing for the best contracts in the best cities.”
The untitled spin-off was written by Craig Rosenberg, writer and producer of The Boys themselves. The show will be hosted by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters.
Neither a filming start date nor a release date has been announced yet.
