As part of the summer update for Dota Plus, the developers have added a new feature to the game, namely the Weekend Mode. The first weekend mode was Ability Draft, which was available in a special search from June 8 to June 13.
According to analyst Ben “Noxville” Steenhuisen, on the first day of the mode, users around the world played 35.3 thousand games in Ability Draft. This is the fourth highest daily rate in the last two years. On a record day, 37.7 thousand matches were played in Dota in the Ability Draft.
In patch 7.31d, the developers made a number of adjustments to the balance of Dota 2. More than two dozen items and almost 60 characters were changed, including Pudge, Pugna, Marci, and others. Valve also released a seasonal update for Dota Plus and fixed many bugs in the Ability Draft .
