Painless. This is in short.
As you know, Overwatch 2 should replace the first part – while maintaining all the progress made by the players in unlocking various character looks, emotions, replicas and other “cosmetics”. Everything would be fine, but in Overwatch the “lootbox” system prevails, while in Overwatch 2 there will be a free cosmetic content store and a combat pass that are already familiar to modern gamers. How to deal with this situation?
The solution is actually simple and concise. First, any Virtual Coins (gold), Competitive Points (purple), and Overwatch League Tokens (blue) you earn and/or purchase in Overwatch will carry over to the sequel. Secondly, any unopened loot boxes you have left will automatically open in Overwatch 2 without your participation, adding their contents to your collection. Obviously, these in-game currencies in Overwatch 2 will also be able to purchase something.
