Motion Twin and Evil Empire have announced the Breaking Barriers update for Dead Cells. Unlike previous updates that added new biomes, weapons, and mutations, this update focuses on new accessibility options and a new help mode. Of course, there are some balance changes, such as reworking eight weapons and lowering the cost of early game weapons.
Along with input options for holding the button to jump a second time, or toggling for a shield instead of a simultaneous press, players can customize font styles. Font size can be adjusted for item descriptions, dialogs, and item names. The size and transparency of the interface are also customizable. You can also adjust the number of particles and the size of the exclamation mark that fires before the enemy attacks.
Assist Mode provides many options to make the game easier, such as multiple lives (from one to infinity) and Auto-hit (when your main weapon automatically attacks the enemy). Trap damage, enemy damage, and enemy health are also configurable. Want to reveal the whole map? Do it.
