New Zealand publisher and game developer Outerdawn has announced the release of a free PC demo of its survival city-building game Goblins of Elderstone.
The free demo runs in conjunction with the Steam Summer Sale, where players can also purchase Goblins of Elderstone for 50% off the regular price.
The free demo will feature a limited number of features in hour-long play sessions so players can start building and working with their goblins right away. After the demo is over, anyone who wants to buy the full version of Goblins of Elderstone can download the progress made during the demo and claim the rewards retroactively.
Goblins of Elderstone is a unique take on the city-building genre with a goblin approach to survival, where the development of tribal dynamics is key. You focus not only on buildings and trade in your city, but also on creating a culture for its inhabitants and ensuring their happiness. Treat your goblins well and they will (mostly) listen to you. Don’t meet their needs and expect them to riot, steal and kill each other.
In addition to collecting resources and building buildings, you must use the diplomatic level, building relationships with neighboring tribes, intrepid explorers, bandits, heroes, and even gods. Your wits and skill at negotiating barter and bribery, as well as the occasional robbery, will help you transform Elderstone from a small village into an empire to be reckoned with.
