After we were delighted to see a new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI earlier this month, there is now fresh content information about Square Enix’s upcoming action role-playing game. These affect the design of the game world.

That’s what producer Naoki Yoshida said in an interview with IGN explains that “Final Fantasy XVI” will not offer an open world, the first material had fueled this hope among fans at the time. Rather, one will be limited to individual areas, according to Yoshida. This has already been seen in “Pokémon Legends: Arceus”.
However, Yoshida admits that when designing the game world itself, it does take inspiration from popular open-world titles. Unfortunately, he did not name any specific names in this context. The reason for this is that many young players have never played a “Final Fantasy” and it is hoped that this will pick them up.
“Final Fantasy XVI” will be released exclusively for PS5 in summer 2023.
