Days Gone creative director Michael Mumbauer and the PlayStation Studios veteran John Garvin founded Liithos, an independent software house that will marry the vision of the decentralized economy of Web 3.0 to give shape to Ashfalla latest generation open world for PC and console.
The two veterans of Sony And Bend Studio describe Ashfall as “the first true AAA web 3.0 video game for PC, console and Hedera network”. Consequently, the new project by the creative director of Days Gone will be based on blockchains and will exploit its decentralized model to propose PvE and PvP challenges within a constantly changing game setting.
Ashfall users will need to explore a world ravaged by global warming and from mysterious energy fields which made the struggle for survival even more brutal. The introductory part is oriented towards singleplayer and a relatively linear narrative, but as the hours of gameplay go by it will be possible to confront the other survivors in a gigantic free roaming map with PvP and PvE missions.
According to the bosses of Liithos, the blockchain system on which Ashfall will be based will be used to offer players the tools to build objects, structures and anything else that can be traded in-game or sold on the 3.0 Hedera network: the declared intention of Mumbauer and Garvin is to transform Ashfall into a transmedia world that also embraces the big screen and film productions.
